LONDON is considered to be one of the most important theatre centres in the world, has hosted the second Turkish Theatre Festival.

The first Turkish Theatre Festival was organised with the initiative of Saray Karakuş and Ümit Baysal last year and this year again there was great interest in the theatre festival.

The Turkish Theatre Festival holds a great importance in terms of introducing Turkish theatre actors to the Turkish speaking societies in the UK.

The festival occurred on 27 April whereby, significant and talented actors from Turkey participated. A superb opening with a gala performance took place on the evening alongside various workshops.

The gala began with a cocktail by which a vast amount of participants had an opportunity to ask questions to the artists which participated in the festival.

Following the opening speeches of Saray Karakuş and Ümit Baysal, guest artists invited to the stage accepted a thank-you plaque with a short speech.

After the thanks plaques were given, the artists sitting on the stage, Cezmi Baskın, Füsun Demirel, Kemal Başar, Meltem Cumbul, Müfit Can Sarığı, Rutkay Aziz and Tamer Levent answered the questions of art lovers.

After the discussion session between artists and participants, Kemal Başar and the guest artist Özgün presented a special music concert.
