More than 2 thousand participant marched in London with their slogan “Stop the bullying towards Kurds, break the silence!”. The crowd protested the oppessive attitude of Turkish government especially tackling the latest events happened in Cizre and Sur.

The demonstration took place on the 6th of March, by starting off by the BBC building. Through the calls of Kurdistan National Congress and London Kurds Solidarity, tens of organisations and individuals showed up at the events to Express their support. The demonstration accommodated participants from both Turkish and Kurdis and other diversed communities, critisising Turkish government’s oppresive regimes like the curfew in East and SouthEast Turkey, by also adding their disappointment of not having any  support from “peace-promising” countries like the UK.

The demonstration started from the BBC Building at 12:00  AM, following a route towards Trafalgar Square at 1 PM. Although the weather conditions were compelling, the protest went smooth and without any problems. Green Party Leader Natalie Bennett was also spotted in the crowd.

The list of the participant NGOs and organisations were: Peace in Kurdistan Campaign, Campacc, Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), Day Mer, Türk Kürt Toplumu Dayanışma Merkezi, GIK-DER/RWCA, Göçmen İşçiler Derneği, National Union of Teachers (NUT), Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers Union (RMT), Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association (TSSA), Trade Union Congress – International Section, Greater London Association of Trade Union Councils, Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC), National Shop Stewards Network, Unite Housing Branch, Unison Islington, Stop the War Coalition, People’s Assembly, Socialist Workers Party, Socialist Resistance, Plan C, Revolutionary Communist Group, Left Unity, Green Party, Kürt Halk Meclisi, Kurdish Community Centre, Halkevi, Roj Women’s Assembly, Kurdish Students Union, Alliance for Workers Liberty (AWL), Anti-Fascist Network (AFN), National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts (NCAFC), Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK), Yüz Çiçek Açsın Kültür Merkezi, Tohum Kültür Merkezi, Türk Eğitim Birliği, Britanya Alevi Federasyonu, Cemevi, Kaşanlılar Dayanışma Derneği, Tilkililer.
