Turkish Teenager Wins Gold

LOCAL TURKISH TEENAGER has won a Gold medal to become a champion in the under 13 category in Britain at the Making at Oasis Academy Enfield.

Student Izem Hassan from Enfield, competed in the British Weightlifting Age Group Championship held at the Phoenix Centre in Castleford.

Talking of Izem’s success, Head of PE Mr Emsley said “As an Academy we are incredibly proud of the achievements Izem has made in her Weightlifting and are keen to promote the sport with other students as we develop a satellite club with the North London Weightlifting Club here at Oasis Academy Enfield.”

The Turkish teenager who competed in the U13 championship lifted her way to winning a Gold medal and being crowned the British Champion of under 13 Weightlifting. Izem won Gold Medals in both the 27kg in the Snatch competition and 30kg in the Jerk competition

For two years, Izem has been participating within the sport and training at the North London Weightlifting Club at Lea Valley Athletics Centre. She has shown great dedication and passion for the sport resulting in her success.
