A TOURISM AND investment reception has been held after the Trakya Development Agency, the British Consulate, the Republic of Turkey London General Consulate, the England Culture and Awareness Council and the Turkish-English Business and Area Room
The reception was attended by General Heads Assistant for the Republic of Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Ministry Ramazan Çokçevik, TBCCI (Turkish British Chamber of Commerce Institute) Member and Turkish Republic Ziraat Bank’s General Head for London Gülen Yeykan, London Culture and Awareness Councils councilor Ali Selçuk Can, Trakya Development Agency’s General Secretary Mahmut Şahin, agency staff, investors and members of the press.
Speaking at the reception, the General Secretary for the Trakya Development Agency said: “Our area is an area of our country that is opening a door to Europe from our country’s most important cities, Istanbul with it being close by, it offers important opportunities for investors. It’s strong transportation and basis of energy, it’s developed organisation sanayi areas, the strategic residency, the hand-given farming lands, and it’s nature, history and touristic and cultural values makes it a very important area. To promote the towns we are responsible for and make people aware of the investment areas and possibilities, we hold receptions and meeting like this one. Not only this, but we also give support to investors in terms of permission and license requirements as well as other business requirements, monitoring them from one point and co-ordinating them to help the investors”
BUSINESS EXPORT 16 MILLION DOLLARS
When looking at our country and England and the figures from last years business exportations, we can see that the hoped for business export level isn’t as we would like. This is actually an opportunity for both sides of the companies and is offering them big opportunities. Looking at the figures from last year the total of business export between both countries is approximately 16 million dollars.
BRITISH AND DUTCH INVESTORS IN TRAKYA
When we look at the information from the foreign investments, in 2014 our country British Investors come after Holland with an investment of 1 million dollars taking second place. The investments made in the Trakya area is still being made by most foreign investors from European countries.
When we analyse the figures from 2014, in our area we automatically see seven foreign companies from England. The investments are made particularly on creation of electrical products, production of plastic products and metal and mining sectors. After this I would like to share some information on our location related to the organisation sanayi areas.
A FREE EUROPEAN SPACE IS AVAILABLE IN TRAKYA
In Tekirdag we have a total of 12 organisation sanayi areas and one special Europe Free Space. When we take on Edirne and Kırklareli towns as well, there is a total of 18 organisation sanayi area. In most of these areas the underground and overground requirements have been completed and are waiting for investors. Our area is close to Europe and new markets, has logistic advantages and is a safe secure area making is an important location for investors.
I invite all the investors to see the investment opportunities and available simplicities. In this reception we have promoted the farming possibilities and hope that is has allowed now business partnerships to progress and I hope that these areas will be benefit as a result of further investments.
