ONE of the UK’s most active associations, Limasollular UK celebrated Mother’s day with great joy at Cyprus Gardens on 13 May, Sunday evening.
The celebration took place in Cyprus Garden, which is the address for joy and fun in London. The participants in the event came together and celebrated the special day were delighted.
Guests of the evening included Meral Akıncı, wife of Mustafa Akıncı, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Zehra Başaran, TRNC Representative of London, Ülkü Alemdar, the London Consul of the TRNC and many other special guests.
Arife Retvan, the President of the Limasollular Association and the TRNC Representative Zehra Başaran made speeches in regards to the importance of mothers and the meaningful impact of mothers for the world.
Meral Akıncı, the wife of TRNC President Mustafa Akıncı, said, “We know that mothers are so special that they cannot be described. Sometimes, without any training or preparation, we take the responsibility of this important task and shape the future of our child, not only our children, but also the geography we live in.”
At the end of the speeches, Arife Retvan announced that Kezban Ismailoğlu was elected as the mother of the year due to her endless support to the association and for being a great mother too.
