Pianist, composer, and writer Emir Gamsız brings his widely acclaimed stage concept The Chatty Pianist to London, following successful performances in New York and Istanbul. Gamsız will perform on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 7:30 PM at Wilton’s Music Hall, one of the city’s most historic venues.
Blending classical music with humor and an educational touch, The Chatty Pianist is more than just a recital. Gamsız will not only perform on the piano but will also entertain the audience with witty insights, including playful advice on “how to pretend you know classical music really well.”
After ending his basketball career at Beşiktaş, Gamsız began studying piano at the age of 20. Over the years, he developed his unique Chatty Pianist format, merging theatrical storytelling with virtuosity, earning widespread acclaim on stages around the world. After one of his performances at New York’s Lincoln Center, an audience member remarked, “This wasn’t a lesson, but we learned a lot; it wasn’t comedy, but it was incredibly funny. And it was definitely a virtuoso piano recital.”
In the first half of the Wilton’s Music Hall concert, Gamsız will explore why Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven are considered the “Three Musketeers of Classical Music.” In the second half, he will present works from the Romantic era by Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin, and Liszt. One of the evening’s highlights will be Heybeli Variations, a composition based on Yesari Asım Arsoy’s beloved piece Biz Heybeli’de Her Gece.
Tickets are now on sale for this unique and enlightening evening of classical music at Wilton’s Music Hall.
