ADD celebrates 19 May Youth and Sports day 

ADD held a music and theatre festival in regards to the commemoration of Atatürk, 19 May Youth and Sports day. It was a great pleasure to have young people from Bristol and Manchester who joined the evening of celebration. After the opening speech of the ADD chairman Jale Özer, the guests held a minute of silence and then sang the national anthem.

The program continued with the contributions of Barış Karadayı, who sang the songs which use to be favored by Atatürk which created pleasant moments during the evening.

The ADD chairman Jale Öze then presented the press statement of England ADD in relation to the 19 May Atatürk Commemoration, youth, and sports day, she stated:

“Our country has been dragged into darkness for the last 16 years, where the republic gains have been individually destroyed and the values of the parliamentary system which was established on 23 April 1920 will remain as a dark page.”

One of the most remarkable moments of the event occurred on behalf of the Ata Art Club which is directed by Müslüm Alataş. The poetry reading by the club was concluded with the Izmir anthem.

The night continued with the violin concert of Melis Ethemsoy, who performed art at the UK National Children’s Orchestra.
