LONDON and the UK is seeing the return of milkmen and women. The use of glass milk bottles in an aim to reduce the amount of plastic used has seen a surge of milkmen and women across the capital and the UK.

After a growing environment concern over the amount of plastic waste has meant that an interest of younger customers this year has led to the increase of consumers. Dairy UK is the represent the milk industry has said that there are now 1 million glass bottle deliver to doorstep every day.

In the 1990’s plastics bottles were introduces as they were a cheaper way to source milk for supermarkets and this saw the decline of the glass milk bottle. Just 20 years before this in the 1970’s nearly every household would wake up a to a glass bottle of milk on their doorstep. Today with growing concern for the environment is seems to 2018 could be the start of its comeback.
