New changes announced by the Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) today means fully vaccinated Brits will not be subject to quarantine until September 6.
The new changes also mean from the 1st of September anyone entering the country will have to show the proof of purchase for their PCR test.
The decision comes as the TRNC Council of Ministers announced it will no longer offer free PCR or Rapid test as of September first for its citizen, stating for those travelling “Individuals travelling to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will have present proof of payment for PCR tests when entering the country.”
Since the end of July, UK travellers that are double vaccinated will not need to quarantine when entering TRNC, they will need to show a negative PCR test take within 3 days of entry, until August 31.
Today this has been extended to September 6th.
The TRNC’s The Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases announced “Fully vaccinated individuals or persons who have recovered from Covid-19 arriving from countries listed in the Red category will be allowed entry into the country with a negative PCR test carried out 72 hours before their arrival. These individuals will be required to enter 5-day quarantine.
“Fully vaccinated individuals arriving from the UK will be exempt from quarantine until September 6.
Currently the UK is on the Red list. This mean anyone that is not fully vaccinated will needs to have a negative PCR test take 72hour before entry and carry out 7 day quarantine.
“Individuals travelling from countries listed in the amber or green category of countries wishing to enter the country via South Cyprus will be subject to rules and conditions that apply to those travelling directly to the TRNC.
“However, individuals arriving from countries listed in the Red, Amber or Green categories wishing to cross over to the TRNC but who have spent more than ten days in South Cyprus will be subject to rules and conditions that apply for inter-island crossings. “
