London’s first Muslim Mayor Sadiq Khan, welcomed Turkish Cypriot Women’s Association in his Office.
Taking place at the City Hall, TWPA board of directors and the Court of Honour attended to the important meeting.
Delivering their greetings and best wishes, TWPA directors had chats with Mr Khan over Turkish speaking communities’ concerns in London and more. TWPA, shared a status update on their Facebook page regarding the meeting as follows:
“We have paid a visit to London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan as TWPA and the Court of Honour. We wished him the best and wider successes in his career and would like to thank this moment to thank Mr Sadiq Khan and Joanne McCartney. As a thank gift, we handed a handmade canvas.
“MEANINGFUL DONATION FROM TWPA TO OAKTHROPE TURKISH SCHOOL”
TWPA hasn’t only visited the Mayor but carried on its significant donations.
TWPA has recently donated an amount of 500 GBP to the Oakthrope Turkish School in North London. The donation took place on last Friday with the attendance of TWPA President Sinem Arıca and the board of directors.
Oakthrope School staff member Ülkü Demir, handed a memorial plaque in return to the generous and meaningful donation made by TWPA.
The event came to an end with delicious treats and small chats amongst TWPA, school staff and students.
