The British Alevi Federation’s education 2016-2017 publication has called on parents.
It has said for children’s parents to visit schools, meet their teachers and improve things for the coming generations. It said:
“Dear valuable families,
The 2016/2017 school year is starting.
We should meet our children’s teachers. We should tell their teachers about our children’s characters and personalities. They should know about about families and culture.
It is thanks to our families that our culture and religion will be recognised as a society. Our children’s teachers, their friends, and school directors will learn about us.
Issues will be much better handled when teachers and school managers know about our children’s culture and religion. Our children have been struggling to communicate. They have found it difficult to meet, and make new friends. They were forced to tell people who they are and where they come from because people do not know.
Changing these issues is now in our own hands. Schools have started to teach Alevi classes which will be a great help. Teachers and head teachers will start to teach about Alevis. If your school has not started to offer these classes, then please petition to put it on the school’s agenda.
The Curriculum Will Begin from September Onwards
It has taken four years for this curriculum to begin but it will finally start in primary and secondary schools in September. The curriculum can be studied at the University of Westminster, Prince of Wales primary school, Highbury Grove secondary school, the British Alevi Federation, the British Alevi Youth Federation, Kızılbaş Publishing, and the Alevi Research Group and all of our courses are provided with the utmost sensitivity. The curriculum is based on a human-centered approach and teaches children about religion and respect of culture, Alevism, identity belonging, sharing and love.
Details of the curriculum will be shared with the press and public as soon as possible. The University of Westminster has been awarded funds for research by the British Association for Educational Research (BAER)
Dear all,
After fifty years we will gather together to build a society ourselves.
We should use all of the possibilities that the country we live in provides us to ensure that our children are no longer stuck in between two struggles. We will make better plans that head teachers cannot say no to.
It is for this reason that we should visit our children’s schools.
