Enfield Council has won a prestigious award for delivering a project which provides energy efficient heating and hot water to dozens of homes in the borough.
The Council was presented with the award at a lunch at the Wembley Stadium on Monday,11 April at the London Regional Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Awards 2016, for the best large scale project of the year costing over £250,000.
Enfield Council beat off stiff competition from EDF, Barking & Dagenham Council;
Brent Housing Partnership; Keepmoat; City Energy and Lakehouse Limited.
Cllr Ahmet Oykener, Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing & Housing Regeneration, said: “It’s great that our project has been recognised in this way and it demonstrates our commitment to delivering innovative schemes.
The wall insulation, window replacement and heating renewal works costed in excess of £6m to complete and this was part funded from the council’s Housing Revenue Account and also from ECO funding from both First Utility and British Gas. These ECO funding contributions were in the region of nearly £2m.
