“Cyprus is going through two different phases at the same-time. Firstly, the peace talks between North and South. Until now, everything from leaders of the community, outside variables and the general public are leaning towards peace. However, another issue outside of Cyprus is little less known but, nevertheless, is moving forward: That Turkey’s outlook on Cypriot Turks and the value it places on the community…[…]…Cypriot Turks have no other choice than to support peace and work for it. Or it can mark the end of the Turkish Cypriot society.” Representatives from CTP London, AKEL London and- Greek and Turkish – representatives from the Enfield Cyprus association; Mary Southcott of friends of Cyprus also attended the event.
