MILITARY SERVICE OPT OUT cost is to be dropped to 1000 euros in Turkey, the Prime Minister of Turkey, Ahmet Davutoglu announced earlier this week.

Prime Minister (of Turkey) Ahmet Davutoglu had this to say in his visit to Germany following the general election victory: “We are decreasing the payment of 6,000 euros to opt-out from national service to 1,000 euros for citizens who live outside of Turkey.”

Davutoglu listed the things the new government is doing in a speech given in Dortmund, Germany, attended by community organisations and citizens from the general public:

“As well as decreasing the option to out from 6,000 euros to 1,000 euros, for our citizens who live abroad, we are decreasing the price of passports from 270 euros to 100 euros. Thirdly, we are increasing the time cars brought over to Turkey from foreign countries can spend within Turkish borders to two years (previously being 6 months). We are going to double the time that a phone from abroad can be used in Turkey without registration. We are going to ask Turkish Airlines to provide a 20% decrease in ticket prices for citizens who fly with a family of three. For students in Germany, we are providing [Turkish citizens] with bursaries and financial support: 500 euros for bachelor’s degree; 700 for masters and 1000 Euros for PHDs. We will provide every mother 300 tl for their first child, 400 tl for their second and 600 tl for their third child. We will provide a 20% additive to Dowry accounts. And, hope to God, we will prove our rightful election with our first reforms from June 2016.”
