Cengiz Çandar
AN IMPORTANT NAME in Turkish media, journalist Cengiz Çandar is to visit London, on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October, as guest of CEFTUS (Centre for Turkish Studies).
The journalist is set to attend two separate events, where he will give talk at, he will also be present the the CEFTUS award ceremony on 28 October.
Professional journalist, who still continues to write for both Turkish national newspapers Hürriyet and Radikal, will give his first meeting on Tuesday 27 October at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London. The meeting which will be hosted by Liberal Democrat Party MP Tom Brake, will also include a presentation called: “The Kurdish Problem: Is the solution period still on the table:” He will analyse and look at the Kurdish problem in the light of the recent political progresses, and following this he will answer questions from guests. ROUND TABLE MEETING
Journalist Cengiz Çandar will also attend a round table meeting on the morning of 28 October at the RUSI (Royal United Services Institute) building. He will there discuss and analyse the time up until the early general election to take place in Turkey and exchange perspectives from correspondents from the world media.
CEFTUS events director İbrahim Doğuş, said: “Cengiz Çandar is one of the most popular and also favored journalists, in regards to the international world he is a journalist whose perspective and thoughts are applied, he is given great attention.”
He continued that he was also to touch on the Kurdish problem and discuss it, however it can discussed.
