HM Revenue and Customs officials found that fashion jeweler Afamefuna Ilene, made a fake bill and bank receipt documents to avoid paying £32,000,00 for the company ‘Onefashionavenu’ in Battersea, in the year 2012.
The 44- year-old who was arrested for dodging taxes and committi
ng tax fraud has been sentenced to a four and a half years prison sentence.
HMRC Fraud Analysis Service Assistant Anthony Swarbrick said: “Ilene is a serial fraudster, despite being caught a third time for the same offence, he still continues to carry on. We will continue to monitor Ilene by tag and those who can possibly commit the same offence will also be monitored.”
Ilene who is now serving a prison sentence, attempted to dodge taxes of up to £600,000,00, was caught and sentenced to two years in prison, however this sentence was postponed. The third time he was caught for the committing the same crime. He was charged with disobeying the 2006 Fraud Law and sentenced to 48 months, as he had a further six months from the postponed sentence, he was sentenced to 54 months in total.
