THE BRITISH ALEVI Federation has published a press release condemning the ruling Turkish party AKP under the order of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Below is an extract of their press release:
“We condemn the war and violence you have planned and intentionally started as a ‘project’, AKP.
You are killing civilians by blocking the roads! You are keeping secret your thievings by making poor communities kill each others children! You have caused a war to stay in power!
We know who you are!
We haven’t forgot the times you said: ‘We will cross over and throw eight missiles’, ‘We are going to perform Salah (Prayer) at the Ummayad Mosque in Damascus, Syria’ and ‘If you dont vote for us, we will show you’. The firearms you sent to ISIS, the help you gave to El Nusra and we haven’t forgotten the youths, children and women you killed in Syria, and Kobane.
Those who lost in the election have wrapped their hands around firearms. Any racist, fascist person has become a tool in this game. Those in power seem to think killing and carrying out violence is the only answer, they now continue to attack with a thousand lies, kill and abolish.
No child is born as violent, a reactionist or racist, the government who raises them teaches these ways of understanding. As the AKP Party did when they lost power, these theories are being used to create chaos.
Turkey’s left wing, socialist, social democrat, democrat, equalness, liberty must put aside their political, cultural, religious and geographical differences and come together if they wish to live in peace.”
