A group of Turkish educationalists met over the weekend to reinforce the importance of standing up for Turkish exams.
The group, led by Ali Uysal, said the work of the Turkish Language, Culture and Education Consortium should be supported in order to ensure GCSE and A level exams in the Turkish language are not abolished from 2017.
Other languages like Polish, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati and Dutch are under threat, the group said, and it was critically important that parents, students and teachers alike joined in the campaign to ensure the voice of Turkish-speakers in London and beyond are heard.
Among those attending the meeting were Kezban Kulle, Züleyha Gözünke, Mercan Balcı, Kazım Öztürk, Cevriye Yılmaz, Nurgün Güner, Necmi Hasan and Yıldız Tosun.
