KKTC President Ersin Tatar met with police officers Ceyhun Uzun and Ryan McKinlay who cycled from London to Cyprus in 28 days.

Thank them for their efforts and dedication in supporting Tanyel’s Smile Foundation, which helps children with cancer in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC). President Tatar expressed his gratitude for their significant and honourable achievement in cycling over 4,000 kilometres to reach the KKTC. He also highlighted the importance of raising awareness about cancer and the support provided to children battling the disease.

The participants, including Ceyhun Uzun and Ryan McKinlay, who were accompanied by their partners for the journey were commended for their efforts in raising funds for cancer-stricken children in the KKTC and for their dedication to the cause. The President also paid tribute to Tanyel, Ceyhun and Gulay Uzun’s daughter, whom they lost to cancer at the age of 18, emphasizing that her memory and smile are still cherished.

The 28-day journey set off from London crossing over into Euproe where they travelled through France, Italy, Greece onto Turkey, and then to North Cyprus. In Cyprus, they were met by Green Pedal members who rode from Grine to Lefke with Ceyhun and Ryan in the final leg of the ride to Tanyel’s favourite restaurant on the island.

Tanyel’s mother, Gülay Uzun, expressed her gratitude to President Tatar and all participants for their support and efforts in the fight against cancer and their journey from London to Cyprus.
