MEY Kannur turned her love of baking into a business and now has launched her first recipe book ‘Short and Sweet’.
A combination of her favourite recipes, ‘Short and Sweet’ is family-friendly with easy and delicious recipes that everyone can try, from the youngest member of the family to the oldest. Her love for baking started at a young age starting her earliest memories was the time spent with her mother in the kitchen, something she later carry over with her own two daughters.
Taking steps to turn this passion and into a business in 2011 Cakes by Mey was created and over the last 10 years has been wowing customers with celebration cakes, colourful cupcakes and many more with tasty treats, as well as sharing her creations along the way on her social media pages.
Speaking to Londra Gazete about ‘Short and Sweet’ Mey said: “I have always wanted to have my own recipe book even before I started my business, it has been something I thought about and now after 10 years since Cakes by Mey started I have published its.”
The book has been put together with careful thought with everything you need from Mey’s top tips and alterative when you missing that one ingredient in your kitchen “The whole process really took around 3 years, the last year is when it really took shaped from getting the images to take and design ready” she explained.
“Short and Sweet is a great starting point for everyone, children as young a two can get their finger sticky with marshmallow dipped in chocolate. It’s great for a family fun active day or for grandparents looking for an easy and fun way to enjoy time with their grandchild. In my house, a rocky road was always a winner.” Adding “But it’s also for a great way for anyone that’s looking to start off of all ages, I’ve always had friends and people I’ve met asking about recipes.”
Taking her years old of baking knowledge and putting it onto paper Mey Short and Sweet book is now available to buy on Amazon and Esty and can be picked up at Alexander cake Craft in Crews Hill, ADPL in Palmers Green and Ossie Barber Shop in Camden.
