The hottest day of the year so far across the UK has been recorded after temperatures reached 31C at Heathrow Airport.
In a statement, the Met Office said: “It is officially the warmest day of the year so far across the UK.
“Temperatures have reached 31.0°C at Heathrow Airport and will continue to climb during the coming hours”.
With people taking to the beaches and parks to enjoy the warm weather as temperatures are set to hit 33C in the south later today.
Meanwhile, the heatwave is set to intensify tomorrow when temperatures could even rise to 34C.
