The president of Turkey Tayyip Erdoğan is perceived to be falling short of election majority he is required to win a June 24 presidential election in the first round, however is anticipated to obtain a majority in the second round, a survey by pollster SONAR exposed on Tuesday.

The survey of 3,000 respondents in 26 of Turkey’s 81 provinces exposed Erdoğan obtaining 48.3 percent of votes in the first round for presidential elections, whilst the main opposition party candidate, Muharrem Ince, seen to receive 31.4 percent. The survey was proceeded within 29 May and June 3.

However, over 53 percent of participants stated they would vote for Erdoğan in contrast to Ince in the second round.

Whilst, in the parliamentary vote, the party currently in power, AKP, was seen to receive 42.2 percent and its alliance partner, MHP, seen to earn 7.1 percent of votes.

The survey revealed the main opposition receiving 39.5 percent and the pro-Kurdish HDP party was seen to receive 10 percent.
