THE election of the 3rd Executive Board of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) UK took place in the London at the Epic event hall in Dalston on Sunday, April 15, 2018.
CHP Deputy Chairman of the Central Executive Committee Responsible for Law and Elections Bülent Tezcan, Head of the British Alevi Federation, UK Alevi Cultural Center-Cemevi and Atatürk Society UK and representatives of different NGOs also attended to the election.
Bülent Tezcan stated that as CHP they continue to carry out their restructuring abroad in the best possible way and conveyed the prescription of what should be done in order to be in power ın the next general elections in Turkey.
Following the speech of Bülent Tezcan, presidential candidates Erol Başarık, İsmet Yıldırım, Elif Gelirli and Sibel Özçelik took the floor, introducing themselves and discussed the work they promised to do during the election process.
At the election held, a total of 516 members went to the polls. Sibel Özçelik, who received 366 votes at the end of the election, was elected as the new president of the CHP UK Union for two years. Elif Gelirli received 146 votes and 4 votes were considered invalid.
