April heatwave hits London

 

LONDON could be the hottest place in Europe this week with temperature reaching 26C.

Forecaster prediction by the Met Office is showing an average of 10C higher temperatures than normal for this time of year in the UK.

Weather in the south- east and London expect to peak 26C with the week seeing highs of 25C, the weekends is expected to see a drop into the low 20s.

A spokesman for the Met Office said:   “It will be a slow start in places with cloud first thing on Thursday. But by mid-afternoon there will be lots of unbroken sunshine. These conditions will carry through into Friday, when we will see similar temperatures but not to the same extent, 23 to 24C, possibly 25C. Saturday will be a very dry, pleasant day, with temperatures down a notch, 21 to 22C. Sunday which is the day of the London Marathon there will be pleasant, warm conditions with highs of 21C in London.”

The heatwave is not expect to hold out until the weekend, ending with light rain and patches of clouds on Sunday.
