“Let’s mend the broken hearts on Eid”

The UK’s Turkish Religious Affairs Minister Mahmut Özdemir, shared a press statement greeting their Eid and extending good wishes with regards to the holy day.

Extending his happiness over celebrating another Eid Al-Adha, Mr Özdemir said Eids are special days that are to enhance the belief in religion and morals. Mr Özdemir’s message followed statements as below:

“In the name of Allah, the compassionate, the merciful,

Thanks to Allah we are enjoying the happiness of witnessing another Eid-ad-adha which are the days of exploring and proliferating happiness, forgiveness and religious deeds. These days are the days to remember the inner and outer peace through breezes of solidarity. Eids are not mediocre days that come and go on a yearly basis but are reminders to remember the importance of solidarity and love. Eids are for relishing happiness and joy.

However nowadays we see under the shadows of war, violence and terror there are brothers and sisters of us who can’t cherish these days joyfully. Even on this sacred day, there are little babies who die before not being able to dress up pretty for the Eid…

This is a day where we honour of friends, family and partners this is a day to deeply commemorate our martyrs who sacrificed their lives in protection of our soils. We have to put an end to broken friendships and thrive to mend broken feelings.

In these feelings, I would like to extend my Eid greeting wishes and wish everyone a joyful and fortunate Eid al-adha with a flow of peace, love, solidarity and joy.
