The “Hoş Seda Classical Turkish Music Choir,” aiming to instil and preserve classical Turkish music in the hearts of future generations in London, met with its audience in a new concert.

The “From Tradition to Future” concert, held on February 4th at St. James Church in the Islington, provided a unique opportunity for the 30-member Hoş Seda Choir, along with its instrumental ensemble and the participation of Turkish Music graduate kanun artist Nurullah Ejder from Turkey and ud artist Ayberk Coşkun from Berlin, to present the rich heritage of Turkish music.

Adding vibrant colours to the concert, the Hoş Seda Classical Turkish Music Choir blended classical period pieces with neo-classical period pieces, providing the audience with an unforgettable musical experience. The event was conducted by Levent Gürbüz and hosted by Melek Yalçın.

Founded and conducted by Levent Gürbüz, born in Van in 1980, the Hoş Seda Classical Turkish Music Choir presented a wide repertoire ranging from classical works to contemporary pieces with the participation of talented artists from Turkey and Germany. Levent Gürbüz, who began taking ud lessons in 1996 and started directing the Youth Choir of the Van Turkish Art Music Association in 1999, has worked in various fields such as music teaching and choir conducting. The concert, lasting about three hours, showcased the diverse repertoire of Hoş Seda Classical Turkish Music Choir, offering a cultural experience for the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot youth in London.
