LOCALLY named as Hasan Kutlu, a member of the Turkish and Kurdish Community Solidarity Centre(Day-Mer) has passed away.
60-year-old Hasan Kutlu, who has been at the forefront of the working class struggle since his youth and did not back down from this struggle until his last breath, passed away in London.
According to the information given by the metropolitan police, it was stated that a 60-year-old man was found injured on Thursday, September 2 3am on a side street in Langhedge Lane, N18. It was reported that he was in a critical condition with a seriously injured to his leg. The police have asked anyone information to call 101 or tweet @MetCC with the reference “CAD1301/2Sep.
Since their press realise the met police have not made a followed up statement, however questions in the community grow over the incident as news broke that Kutlu had lost his life.
Kutle who has been locally named was believed to be returning home from North Middlesex Hospital, where he was released following treatment for Covid-19 at the time of the incident.
DAY-MER shared a statement on social media saying: “Our dear member and friend Hasan Kutlu passed away on Friday, September 3rd. Neither the family nor we as DAY-MER have clear information about the cause of death. Since the autopsy process has just begun, we cannot give a clear explanation. All of us are in great pain, but in this process, our request from you is not to speculate on the cause of death and to wait for the official announcement. We will continue to share the developments with you here. Thank you for your understanding.”
Aslı Gül, President of DAY-MER, said, “We lost a very valuable comrade. Our brother Hasan was a rare member of ours. We are very sorry.”
