A man has been jailed for eight-and-a-half years for the rape of a 23-year-old woman in her own home.
Mustafa Osman, 36, of Lebus Street, Tottenham, pleaded not guilty to three charges of rape and sexual assault of a woman at her home in east London.
Snaresbrook Crown Court heard Osman initially assaulted the victim by slapping her face and pulling her hair before forcing her to remove her clothes. She was then subjected to a variety of assaults spanning a four hour period.
During her ordeal the 23-year-old victim was threatened by Osman who said he would find her and ‘ruin her life’ if she told anyone.
The victim’s ordeal only ended after she left for work the following morning and was able to raise the alarm.
A jury unanimously found Osman guilty on all three counts. He was jailed for eight-and-a-half years.
Detective Constable Richard Wren of the Met’s Sexual Exploitation and Child Abuse Command said: “This young woman was subjected to a torturous ordeal that spanned four hours and put her in fear for her life.
“She was then compelled to give evidence in court by Osman entering a not guilty plea. I hope that the sentence handed down provides her with a measure of comfort and goes someway to restoring her sense of personal safety.”
