Amongst the Turkish speaking communities London can be seen in many different way. Some people whether think it is a city with endless opportunities when some other think it is too expensive to live in.
We have asked the people in London whether they would fancy living in a different city or stick to the Big Smoke and we have compiled the answers with their reasons. We hope you enjoy this compilation of interviews as much as we did whilst making.

I actually do live in Oxford and come here in London for two times a week. I definitely believe that London is world’s one of the most amazing cities especially given its appreciation for arts and creativity. And because there are an estimated number of Turkish people I really do enjoy the opportunities here. I also would like to live in London given I am a creative and artistic person.

I have been in London for approximately 1 year. I am very central and therefore I have loads of places nearby like cafes, restaurants, theatres. I first came here due to work and now I think to myself it has been such a blessing. I have seen many cities before and I can easily say that this is the greatest of them all. I also like the fact there are many Turkish people around. I came from Istanbul which is a big city as well but unfortunately we don’t have the true appreciation for people like here in London

I’ve been here in London for 17 years, I think London is an amazing city with amazing people in it. You can find everything for everyone like if you are a sportsperson you can go and find opportunities there same with arts. The only thing that is missing to me is the sea. Otherwise I am utterly happy to be living in this civilised city.

I was born in France but I’ve always been in interaction with Turkish culture. London is a real beauty but since my family is in France another half of my heart resides in there. I also find Brighton very pretty maybe given they have the sea breeze there. London is very liveable and vibrant.

I have been in London for almost 10 years. I also have to state that Turkey is an amazing country for its nature and this is something that I found lacking in London. However London has its wonders and offerings as well. I love the artistic enterprises and opportunities and endless possibilities. I also don’t think other cities have this much job opportunities compared to London, either.
