This is the moment a stab victim tries to defend himself from an armed gang after an attack in broad daylight on a busy south London high street.
CCTV shows a man swinging a blade towards the victim in front of terrified onlookers in Tooting High Street.
The victim had been set upon outside a Sainsbury’s near Tooting Broadway Tube before being stabbed and grabbing one of his attackers’ weapons, police say.
Video seems to show the stabbed 21-year-old trying to ward off the group with the blade.
He then flees up the street towards the Tube station, pursued by the others.
e say he threw the knife away as he ran, jumped on a train to Tooting Bec and then hid in a fast food restaurant before emergency services arrived.
Paramedics treated him for his injuries and took him to hospital where he was later discharged.
Police want to trace two men shown in the footage following the attack on August 4, which happened at around 5pm near a branch of HSBC.
One is described as a large black man, aged in his early 20s.
Detective Constable Daniel Babbs, from Wandsworth CID, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the two men shown in the footage or the still released, or anyone who witnessed the incident.”
Two other men, aged 17 and 22 have been arrested in connection with the stabbing and bailed until next month.
Anyone with information is asked to contact CID via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
