An ongoing series of demonstrations against the banned and shut TV channels in Turkey carries on attracting attention.

In the wake of 15 July coup attempt, Turkey’s political agenda unceasingly grows into a more significant status. Currently, five TV channels have been ordered to shut by the Prime Ministry due to the ongoing state of emergency investigations. Representatives from Kurdish and Turkish community centres along with many English and Turkish locals led a demonstration on the 10 Downing Street.

Condemning the anti-democratic movements of shutting media outlets, Day-Mer (Turkish-Kurdish Solidarity Centre) President Aslı Gül talked to Londra Gazete.

Day-Mer’s Youth Branches spokesperson, Oktay Cinpolat also remarked the demonstration’s significance as a “search for freedom and raising the voices”

“Day by day the authoritarian movements are taking over the democratic sphere of the country, not only for Turkish government, but against every government that support authoritarian regimes”
