The Britanya Kürt Halk Meclisi marched for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and his release. Two-hundred people marched to Trafalgar Square to reiterate their demand for Abdullah Öcalan’s release organized by the Britanya Kürt Halk Meclisi. When the protest began some English politicians and civilians attended.
From Trafalgar square the group began to walk to the BBC offices whilst shouting slogans through tourist areas like Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street, finally they came to Oxford Street. Here they stopped for a moment and listened to Mark Campbell, a human rights advocate, before continuing onto the BBC. Whilst they were walking with a police unit escorting them a woman’s blood pressure rose as she felt threatened. The police commissioner intervened after the crowd became frenzied to calm the protestors. In front of the BBC building there were speeches made in both English and Kurdish. After the speeches, slogans were shouted, and the protest ended.
