Iftar meal by Turkish Religious Foundation

Turkish Religious Foundation, based in Hornsey, London hosted a big iftar event which has been an annual event in Ramadans in London. Many different faces from all across the community got together for prayers, good wishes, greeting and meetings.

The foundation’s admin Mahmut Özdemir, in his speech, remarked how it is so important to bring different cultures and nationalities together for a better future, remembering that Ramadan stands for being the month of peace, solidarity and unity. The meal that comprised over 100 people, also welcomed Turkish General Consul Erhan Yorulmazlar for his speech after the fasts were broken. Mr Yorulmazlar said “I am ultimately honoured to be here in such times when our religion is being taken away from its primary specialty: oneness, soşidartity and collaboration”.

The guests enjoyed the festive iftar dinner following the traditional Teravi prayer.
