The unfortunate Tory peer embarrassed herself in front of an audience of 3,000 by picking up a ‘six-year-old boy’ who turned out to be two years older than herself.
While addressing an audience of 3,000 in Vietnam, the Baroness of Mayfair picked up who she thought was a six-year-old boy after he presented her with flowers.
The ‘boy’ in question, turned out in fact to be a man who, at 46, was two years older than Ultimo lingerie company founder Mone. Writing on Twitter, Lady Mone said “Only realised when a woman shouted with laughter ‘that’s my HUSBAND’
“Everyone thought it was hilarious including him.”
She later went into further detail, telling the Mail on Sunday: “The guy was fine with it and the whole room was screaming with laughter.
“I thought something was wrong – his teeth were bright yellow from nicotine.”
The pictures have received a mixed response online as some users slammed Mone for further embarrassing the man while TV presenter June Sarpong tweeted: “Hilarious, brings new meaning to picking up a man.”
Some have questioned whether the photos have surfaced as part of a publicity stunt to promote her latest UTan fake tan product, as she originally posted one of the images on her Instagram account six months ago. Her spokesperson denied this.
