Day-mer, the leftist organisation, has been at the forefront of providing help for refugees as an organisation from the Turkish and Kurdish community.

Late last year, Day-Mer visited the “terrible conditions” of Calais refugee camps twice, and now will be going for its third trip on the 27th of this month. Calais’ refugee camps are currently home to many Syrian, Sudanese, Iraqi and many other regions in the Midd-East; most are fleeing war.

A report last week showed that the UK was not doing enough for those fleeing the war. David Cameron was blasted for be-littling them by calling them “a bunch of migrants”. Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, visited Calais and spoke about the horror of the ‘horrible condition’ the refugees are subjected to.

The government deficiency – for whatever reason – in lending an helping hand for refugees have prompted NGOs to take matters into their own hands.

As a representative of the Turkish speaking community – Kurdish and Turkish – Day-Mer has been actively calling for any help or donations that can be given to help refugees; Essentials include: Medicine, clothing, tents, food, sleeping bags, shoes (boots especially), torches and other essentials. Financial help is also welcomed.
