London’s Kemalist Thinkers Association (LKTA) have critiqued their first book of the year under the ‘group’s’ on-going project: “Travel through books’ history”.

Semyon Ivonovic Aralov’S book, “A Soviet Ambassador’s Turkey Memoir”, was the centre piece of the book-club-like event that took place on January 25th, 2016, in the Azerbaijan House, at 18:30, ending at 21:30.

LKTC’s culture and literature officer, Kadriye Atabay, kicked started the night with an opening speech informative of the projects and works of the association, follow by a short talk on the history of Russian and Turkish relations till today, given by researcher and Academic Abdullah Nihat Yilmaz.

Presumably and probably, the chosen book reflected the current breakdown in relations between Turkey and Russia after Turkish air defence shot down a Russian plane bound to bomb anti-Assad forces in Syria.

The free event which was also open to the public, lasted three hours, including the home cooked food offerings made by members of the association.
