OLIVE TREE EDUCATION FOUNDATION has once again shown it’s difference after it reached out to helping the blind in North Cyprus.
Olive Tree Education Foundation which is frequently in our news for their projects has this time set up a project to help the blind living in the TRNC (Turkish Republic of North Cyprus). For those who are unable to read newspapers, magazines and books, the Olive Tree Foundation has set up a very beneficial project for those who are unable to see.
They have opened a sound studio at the TRNC Disabled Solidarity Association for the blind people, making sure they provide the audio and saved recording of texts they require. The project opening was also attended by project sponsor Günay Veli Head of the Oliver Tree Education Foundation.
Commenting on the topic Head of TRNC Disabled Solidarity Association Ömer Suay, said: “We own a library which is up to European Standards, however as there are not audio books to do with history and culture and newspapers have also moved over to the digital world, there are restrictions and difficulties for the blind to follow books, newspapers and magazine which are useful to them or might require.”
Head of Association Mr Suay added: “The project will now also those who are blind to follow books, newspapers and magazines with the audio and audio recordings, and there will no long be anything to stop them or a block in front of them.”
The sound recording studio is entirely made up of volunteers explained Suay, since the advertising prior to the project, there have a total of 73 volunteers have applied to do voice recordings. Suay, ended his speak by thanking sponsor of the sound recording studio, Olive Tree Education Foundation.
