A CHARITY has promoted and given information on their project ‘Kibris Vizyon 2020’ across North Cyprus last week.
Charity Olive Tree Education Foundation (OTEF) is a charity which gives people in need help by offering requirements they need and cannot afford in England and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Businessman Günay Veli, who has taken responsibility as Head of OTEF, explained what they’ve touched upon in North Cyprus as well as the charity’s services and the project ‘Kibris Vizyon 2020’ and continued his works of helping.
During his visit to North Cyprus, Günay Veli held a conference at Gönyeli Council, which promoted OTEF and discussed his projects. To bring young people together, Mr. Veli gave five separate talks across the island, they took place in Famagusta, Kyrenia, Nicosia and Lefke. Over 600 listeners attended the talks, where the 21st Century, lifestyle, the way of life and the difficulties they face were spoke of and possible solutions as well. Mr. Veli also explained that he will continue to organise more programs like this in England and the TRNC .
FOUR YEAR HELP FOR NORTH CYPRUS
“In the next four years, orphaned and ill children along with struggling families began receiving help three months ago and will continue to do so with the campaign ‘Kıbrıs Vizyon 2020’ (North Cyprus Vision 2020). I would like to thank all the members of the charity, unions and organisations and businessman who are contributing and helping our work.” said Mr Veli.
He added: “Whether the donations or helps be made in England or the TRNC, we aim to reach one million Turkish pounds (Around £250,000), let’s come together, work together and take responsibility for our people here and in the UK.”
Since April this year, the helps currently stand at £19,000, in December there will be donations of up to £2000 and within this year it will have reached £21,000. Head of Charity, Mr Veli said: “£6,000 worth of furniture has been bought and donated to the SOS Children’s Village, over £5,000 has been donated to the Special Needs and Disabled Association and £8,000 has been donated to families who are struggling to get by and have children who have health problems or now live the rest of their lives in bed (due to illness or accidents, etc)”
