A host of celebrities return to screens on MasterChef, iPlayer and BBC One. This season, leading stars of the screen and stage world, sports and art community will compete to showcase their talents in front of the jury. Among the 20 celebrities, one of those who will try to impress the judges with their culinary skills will be actor Tamer Hassan.
Hassan, who hails from New Cross and has a life story ranging from amateur boxer to restaurant and nightclub manager, is known for his fame in many hit films and television series. These include the classic films The Football Factory (2004), The Business (2005) and Dead Man Running (2009), the global phenomenon Game of Thrones (2016) and the television adaptation of the TV series Snatch (2017–2018).
Tamer, who is of Turkish Cypriot origin, takes on a new role in the nineteenth season of Celebrities MasterChef – as a chef. This season is expected to produce dishes of the highest quality.
Observing the performance of Tamer and other celebrities in the kitchen will be experienced MasterChef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace. This season’s contestants include names such as ‘H’ of Steps, Mutya Buena of Sugababe’s, comedian Eshaan Akbar and Diane Carson of popular British reality show The Traitors.
The series will run for six weeks throughout the summer, with contestants facing increasingly challenging culinary challenges to win the Celebrity MasterChef 2024 title.
