The British Turkish Women’s Association, celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th at the residence of the Turkish Ambassador in London, hosted by Sevcan Ertaş, the wife of the Ambassador.
The event held at the Embassy residence was attended by various distinguished guests including the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in London Representative Çimen Keskin, Turkish Embassy Undersecretary Özge Demirkurt Atahan, Lala Abdurahimovathe wife of the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, President of the British Turkish Women’s Association (BTWA) Maviş Fuchs, President of the Çanakkale Commemoration Platform Servet Hassan along with numerous members of the association.
In her speech, the Honorary President of the Association, Sevcan Ertaş, emphasized that International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to recognize the efforts, achievements, and challenges faced by women, stating that women are the cornerstone of society.
Ertaş stated, “As wives, mothers, sisters, colleagues, or managers, each of us contributes significantly to the society and our country.”
BTWA President Fuchs extended her wishes for a happy International Women’s Day to all determined, strong, and resilient women who contribute greatly to making the world a better place.
She expressed her gratitude to Sevcan Ertaş, the Honorary President of BTWA, for hosting the event, and wished everyone a life filled with love, success, and happiness.
Following the speeches, young violinist Elfida Su Turan presented local and foreign pieces to the guests. Her performance of “Sarı Gelin” received great applause.
