The British Alevi Federation (BAF) celebrated its 10th-anniversary celebrations with a number of events, under the slogan “Alevilers Exist, Alevism is a Right!”
The first event of the BAF 10th-anniversary celebrations was the “Alevism Lessons and Curriculum Workshop.” Followed by a second panel titled “Achievements and Goals of Organized Alevis” took place under the moderation of BAFF Co-Chair, Dilek İncedal. They extensively discussed the historical struggle experiences, achievements, vision for the future, and future goals of the Alevi community in Europe and Turkey.
On the evening of January 14, 2024, the final night of the BAF 10th-anniversary celebration featured performances by Sasa, Suna Alan, Mustafa Kılçık, and the Enfield AKM Women’s Choir, adding colour to the celebration with their musical presentation.
İncedal, along with her Co-Chair Müslüm Dalkılıç expressed their continued excitement and determination, highlighting significant achievements such as the establishment of Alevism lessons in public schools in the UK, recognition of Alevism as a unique belief, the establishment of an Alevi Secretariat in the UK Parliament, the acquisition of an Alevi Cemetery, and the establishment of a federation campus in a 40-acre area. They emphasized the growth of Alevi organization in the UK from its roots in London 30 years ago to reaching 18 AKM-Cemevis throughout Britain.
