The Royal Parks Half Marathon took place on a sunny and warm Sunday, October 8, 2023, in the heart of London. Despite temperatures rising to 24°C, which exceeded the usual seasonal norms, the race was successfully completed.
The impressive half marathon route in central London included some of the city’s famous iconic structures and covered four of London’s eight Royal Parks: Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park, and Kensington Gardens.
Approximately 16,000 runners participated in the race on the Sunday, October 8, raising substantial donations for various charitable organizations, including GOSH and Mind.
Okan Baysan, participant, completed this race in 1 hour and 55 minutes, just two weeks after finishing the Royal Windsor Half Marathon. He also raised £500 for the GOSH Children’s Charity. Baysan proudly represented his Turkish Cypriot heritage by running in the national Turkish Cypriot football jersey.
