ATATÜRK World Platform (AWP) which brought together 14 associations from different countries, celebrated its 6th anniversary in İzmir. Members from all over the world reaffirmed their determination for unity, solidarity and solidarity under the umbrella of the AWP.
AWP, which held meetings in Sweden, Germany, Austria and Turkey between 2016 and 2019, has been conducting its event programs online since the pandemic began. AWP brought together the representatives of member associations from 5 countries, who travel to Turkey to take part in their annual celebration for the first time after 3 years.
The event took place in İzmir on 6-7 August members from Germany, America, Sweden, Norway, and England declare that they will continue their “activities and works abroad at full speed, in order to preserve and defend the Republic of Turkey forever, in the road map shown by the great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in the light of reason and science.”
AWP President Jale Özer speaking at the event said: “As Turks living apart from our homeland, we all observe how well-organized foreign democratic mass organizations abroad conduct effective lobbying work. At this point, the importance of ADDP emerges. ADDP rather than doing the kind of activities that local associations do successfully; should make effective lobbying activities abroad by using communication tools and social media very well. AWP, as an international umbrella organization, shows Atatürk’s principle of peace at home and peace in the world, the Enlightenment Project, how important the Republic of Turkey, which is a modern, democratic, secular and social law state, is not only for us but also for world peace. It is an organization that can announce what is necessary more effectively” and emphasized the establishment purpose of AWP once again.
Also attending the event was an investigative writer and founder of “Yürüyen Köşk Association” Metin Erdoğan, who accepted the invitation of AWP. Erdoğan’swas present a plaque from Özer for his contribution to the environment and nature.
