Community groups calling on local voices for ‘The North London Zero Waste Survey’

SO far over 1000 residents have taken part in the ‘The North London Zero Waste Survey’ which has been set up by a voluntary and informal community group in North London.

In a statement, they said: “Our work seeks to supercharge recycling, reuse and composting in North London to reduce incineration. We want North London to manage its rubbish in the most climate-friendly way. To end the current plan to continue to burn our rubbish in incinerators beyond the end of our lifetimes. North London can do better with more jobs, more economic opportunities and an improved environment. To end air pollution and treat our wastes as valuable resources.”

Adding “We live in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, Hackney, Islington, and Waltham Forest. We want to make things better. We want to create positive change.”

They plan to use the survey results to “give your Councillors a people’s mandate at the May 5 elections. Our group will publish the results in a hard hitting report for the north London councils offices and the media.  The survey will be open until Monday, April the 25th.

“All responses are anonymous and confidential. This survey is for residents in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, and Waltham Forest.”

Local residents within the borough can take part in the survey which is available in English, Turkish and Polish at www.letstalkrubbish.london.
