In England, the third stage on the roadmap out of lockdown, when ahead on Monday May 17. This has meant restriction on indoor venues like restaurants, pubs and gyms have been lifted as well having people around your home.

As this restriction life, the Prime Minister has warned that causes still need and everyone needs to still need to follow the guidance in place.

In a statement, Johnson said: “Together we have reached another milestone in our roadmap out of lockdown, but we must take this next step with a heavy dose of caution…

“I urge everyone to be cautious and take responsibility when enjoying new freedoms today in order to keep the virus at bay.”

With international travel back on for the green list and overnight stays allowed, indoor dining has re-started, this week, at Londra Gazete, we spoke with two of north London’s leading Turkish restaurants as they now welcome diner into their restaurants.

Vadi Restaurant Palmers Green’s Onur Demirci said: “The closure of England has had a negative effect on restaurants in the service sector as well as on all businesses….  The closure of the UK and restaurants in general created a big problem for us. We do not want to hope too much because we cannot see our future at the point of expectation, we hope everything will be much better but people are really in a difficult situation. The help they receive is insufficient; most people cannot even get help, so I hope everything will be much better for the future. Our guests who come to our restaurant are hosted in accordance with the coronavirus rules. We do not accept customers without masks, we offer antibacterial gel to our customers first. All of our employees work with masks and in accordance with the guidance. We are keeping up social distancing, as well as getting rapid tested twice a week. Therefore, we aim to host our customers in a healthier and more protected way.”

In Palmers Green Aksular Restaurant Leyla Ali said: “The restaurant sector has been opened since May 17, but we are not very busy. I don’t know what this depends on, maybe people are still afraid of the virus or don’t visit restaurants due to economic issues. The pandemic period ultimately put everyone in economic trouble. We are waiting for the weekend and hope we will be busier, of course, people missed going to restaurants with friends or loved ones. For a long time, most of us had been waiting for restaurants to re-open, I think things will get better with time. At first, people may be timider, I think things will increase gradually. Our expectation is, of course, we want to regain our old customers, to be intense as before and return to normal. We need to learn to live with the virus now. Within the scope of Covid-19 measures, we apply all the rules explained by the authorities and take the necessary measures to protect the health of both our customers and employees. On the other hand, we had a shortage of employees in the last period, because too many people were affected by the opening and closing of the restaurant sector. Some of them changed the sector because the staffs were afraid of our closure again….Like everyone, we say we wish we hadn’t seen these days because all sectors were affected, we want this pandemic to come to an end for a moment. Not everyone can psychologically endure reclosing, our biggest concern is that we reclose during the winter months.”
