Travel restrictions have been lifted for UK travellers to Turkey, the announcement made by late last night by the Turkish Embassy in London.

On their social media posting an official statement, they said UK travellers are no longer subject to 10 days quarantine.

Travellers will still need to provide a negative PCR test within 72 hours before departure.

RETURNING FROM TURKEY

UK travellers returning from will still have to carry out home quarantine once you arrive, as well as a pre-flight PCR test(within 3 days of departure) and a further 2 coronavirus tests during their quarantine period (on day 2 and 8) which have to booked before departed and an online form completed with your details including test dates.

At present all foreign holidays from the UK are illegal, a lift on international travel restrictions on May 17, with a colour system travel corridor that will have different measures for each group (green, amber, and red). Its believed that ‘green’ countries will not be subject to quarantining but PCR testing before and after arrival is likely to be required.

Questions have also been raised looking at the use of ‘vaccine passports’ with countries, which could see no restrictions on travellers.

It’s being reported the Government is working to ‘fast-track’  ahead of May 17.

Yesterday Turkey’s official daily figures showing coronavirus case at 61,967 and deaths 362.

On Sunday Turkey had the world’s 2nd highest coronavirus rate per 100,000 people, this has raised questions that the country could be placed in the UK’s current ‘red list ban’. It has also previously reported that once the new travel corridor system starts its could be in the ‘Amber’ group.
