The new Quarantine Tracking System which will allow various groups to spend their mandatory quarantine at their homes or places of residence in North Cyprus was launched one Monday (April 12).
According to the new system, individuals arriving from abroad and who meet the criteria for home quarantine will first need to download the mobile application “Güvende Kal”.
Individuals will then be required to complete all registration and payment through the app before their arrival at the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Those approved for home quarantine will then be fitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet upon entry.
Individuals will need to pay ₺750 (around £77) for the electronic bracelet and will receive a ₺350(around £31) deposit refund when they return the wristband at the end of the quarantine period.
Speaking at the press conference, the General Director of North Cyprus Türkcell which will be in charge of the application Murat Küçüközdemir said that the system had become operational today(April 12) as electronic monitoring wristbands were fitted on arriving passengers at Ercan Airport.
He explained that the bracelet will send a warning to officials should the individual leave his or her place of residence, the connection is interrupted and the wristband is removed or if the app to which the wristband is paired is erased from the mobile phone.

Once a quarantine period has ended, and text will be sent and the person will be direct to go to the nearest Wristband Return Point.
Here the wrist ban will be removed by officials and the individuals checked out of quarantine with the deposit issued for the return.
Applications for home quarantine need to be submitted three working days prior entry into the TRNC.
