DR Teoman Sırrı MBE, well known by the Turkish speaking community, made important statements regarding coronavirus tests to London Gazette.
Answering the question of whether the correct results can be detected through PCR tests, Teoman Sırrı said: “Most of the Covid-19 provide false results. PCR tests used in many countries show that 1 in 5 test results are negative. According to recent research, if any person is infected with Covid-19 within 4 days, the PCR test results will be 67 percent negative. In short, PCR tests give false results.”
Emphasizing that although the symptoms of coronavirus tend to be high temperature, coughs, or shortness of breath. Sırrı noted that the virus detected from the nose and throat could give false results because the virus begins to enter the lungs.
Stating that there are people who do not show any symptoms but can also easily spread Covid-19.
Sırrı highlights that the single most reliable test is an antibody, saying that performing a single PCR test does not give a guaranteed result. Sırrı continued as follows:
“The best and reliable Covid-19 test is the most recent and blood-made antibody test. These tests give one hundred percent or ninety-nine percent accurate results. This test also shows whether you have previously caught the virus. Patients infected with Covid-19 within 2 or 3 days can be detected with this test.”
Sırrı, also suggested that people who live in the UK and want to visit Cyprus can go without staying in quarantine for 14 days with the antibody test, “If people want to go Cyprus from England, they can get the antibody test done 5 days before their flight. 14 days quarantine will also not be necessary if this test is done. Of course, this is only my suggestion, the decision is for the TRNC government.
