15 teams took part in a football tournament organised by a Turkish-Kurdish cultural association last weekend.
The tournament, organised by Day-Mer, was held at the Tottenham Powerleague ground on Willoughby Lane and saw more than 200 youths take part, uniting under an anti-racist banner.
The winner of the six-hour tournament was North London Football Academy, while Tilkiler (Foxes) came second and Forza Milan were third.
Speaking at the event, Day-Mer youth commission member Oktay Cinpolat said that the lives of young people became increasingly difficult during the Labour Party government starting from 2007, and that public sector cuts and unemployment increases had added to the burden.
Day-Mer president Aslı Gül, who spent the whole day at the event, thanked the organisers for their role in putting the day together.
