Kudret Özersay: “We are embarrassed and apologise to you

TURKISH Cypriot Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay launched the project aimed towards the Turkish Cypriots living abroad. The project launchment occurred on 19 July Thursday evening, at Grand Palace.

Kudret Özersay underlined the project launchment under the slogan “Homeland is call you”.

Özersay began his speech by apologising towards the Turkish Cypriots living in England and after completing his speech about the project presentation and said that for the first time the government took the issue of the Turkish Cypriots seriously by implementing the project on ministry level.

Additionally asserted that, “the project with thousands of Cypriot Turks and TRNC nationals living here to strengthen their ties with TRNC and to make their trips to TRNC more frequent.”

Within the project actions will be taken to prevent immigration from the TRNC, Özersay spoke about the social housing project which offers young people in Cyprus long-term opportunities.

Noting that the project is essentially aimed at promoting all Turkish Cypriots living in the UK, Özersay said the long-term promotional campaign would be shaped in the future by mentioning the need for effective media use for promoting the project.
